Vision

The Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) at College des Freres, Jerusalem, envisions a collaborative and supportive community where parents, teachers, and students work together to foster an enriching educational environment. We aspire to enhance the overall development of our students through active engagement and communication among all stakeholders, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential.

Objectives

The Parents and Teachers Association (PTA) at College des Freres, Jerusalem, envisions a collaborative and supportive community where parents, teachers, and students work together to foster an enriching educational environment. We aspire to enhance the overall development of our students through active engagement and communication among all stakeholders, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential.

Foster Collaboration

Promote a strong partnership between parents and teachers to facilitate open communication and collaboration for the benefit of students’ educational experiences.

Enhance Community Engagement

Encourage active participation from parents in school activities and decision-making processes, fostering a sense of belonging and community within the school environment.

Organize Events and Activities

Plan and execute various events that enrich the school experience, such as cultural activities, fundraising events, and educational workshops, fostering a vibrant school community.

Support Academic Excellence

Organize initiatives and programs that support academic achievement, including workshops, tutoring, and resources that enhance learning opportunities.

Promote Student Well-being

Advocate for the holistic development of students by supporting programs focused on mental health, social skills, and emotional well-being.

Provide Resources and Support

Establish a network for sharing resources, information, and support among parents and teachers, enabling them to address challenges and celebrate successes together.

Basic Statute

Parent-Teacher Council of Collège des Frères Secondary School in Jerusalem / New Gate (2024-2025)

 

 

Article One: Title
This statute shall be called the Statute of the Parent-Teacher Council of Collège des Frères Secondary School in Jerusalem / New Gate for the year 2024-2025. It shall be effective upon approval by the school administration and the council.

Article Two: Definitions
The following terms and expressions shall have the meanings assigned to them in this statute:

  • School: Collège des Frères Secondary School – Jerusalem / New Gate

  • Council: Parent-Teacher Council of Collège des Frères Secondary School – Jerusalem / New Gate

  • Principal: Principal of Collège des Frères Secondary School – Jerusalem / New Gate

  • Administration: The administrative body of Collège des Frères Secondary School – Jerusalem / New Gate

  • Member(s): Member(s) of the Parent-Teacher Council

  • Council Structure: The organizational structure of the Parent-Teacher Council

  • Council Committees: Committees of the Parent-Teacher Council

  • Council President: President of the Parent-Teacher Council

  • Vice President: Vice President of the Parent-Teacher Council

  • Council Secretary: Secretary of the Parent-Teacher Council

  • Council Treasurer: Treasurer of the Parent-Teacher Council

  • General Assembly: Includes all parents in the school.

  • Executive Body: The elected body of the General Assembly, also known as the Parent-Teacher Council.

  • Administrative Body: Comprises the President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary.

Article Three: Purpose of the Council
The council represents a collaborative group of parents and teachers, chosen through election or appointment, serving as an advisory body to the school administration.

Article Four: Legitimacy
The Executive Body derives its legitimacy as the representative of all parents and teachers. Its formation and function require approval from the school administration, ensuring the council operates within the school’s vision and policies.

Article Five: Structure of the Executive Body
The Executive Body consists of 13 members:

  • Seven members elected in a meeting called by the principal.

  • Six members appointed by the administration to ensure broad representation and respect for the school's social and cultural diversity.

  • Two teachers appointed by the administration.
    The council’s term is two years from the date of election.

Article Six: Administrative Body
Following the election of the Executive Body, an Administrative Body is formed, comprising:

  1. President: Elected by the Executive Body.

  2. Vice President: Elected by the Executive Body.

  3. Secretary: Elected by the Executive Body.

  4. Treasurer: Elected by the Executive Body.

Article Seven: Membership Criteria
Members should be selected based on competence and interest. Efforts should be made to represent all grade levels, and membership is voluntary.

Article Eight: Meetings
Council meetings are held at the school, outside official working hours, to encourage attendance and participation.

​

Article Nine: Vision and Mission
The council serves as a consultative, non-profit, and inclusive body that supports the school in achieving excellence across educational, social, and administrative domains. Its mission is to enhance collaboration between parents and the school for the benefit of the students.

Article Ten: Objectives

  1. Assist in achieving the school’s educational goals and policies.

  2. Strengthen the relationship between parents and the school.

  3. Raise awareness among parents about the importance of cooperation with the school.

  4. Facilitate information exchange between the school and parents.

  5. Enrich school programs and extracurricular activities.

  6. Support the school in addressing challenges and mobilizing resources.

  7. Promote a positive and inclusive educational environment.

Article Eleven: Functionality
The council operates through clearly defined structures, distributing members into committees or working groups to achieve its vision and goals.

Article Twelve: Meetings and Decisions

  1. The council holds regular meetings at least once every two months.

  2. Decisions are made by a two-thirds majority of the council members present.

​

​

Article Thirteen: Administrative Roles

  1. President: Oversees meetings and acts as a liaison between the council and the administration.

  2. Vice President: Assists the President and acts in their stead if absent.

  3. Secretary: Documents meetings and manages correspondence.

  4. Treasurer: Manages the council’s financial matters.

​

Article Fourteen: Confidentiality
Members must maintain confidentiality regarding council discussions and decisions until officially announced.

​

​

Article Fifteen: Amendments
The statute may be amended during a regular council meeting with a two-thirds majority vote, in collaboration with the school administration.

​

​

Article Sixteen: Dissolution
The council may be dissolved by either:

  1. The resignation of two-thirds of its members.

  2. A decision by the school administration.

​

​

Article Seventeen: Founding Council
The current council serves as the founding body and is tasked with adopting the internal regulations and organizing elections within one year.

This document has been reviewed, approved, and endorsed by the school administration.
