In the presence of the Frères High School – Jerusalem / New Gate family, the Holy Mass for the opening of the 2025-2026 school year was held, presided over by His Excellency Bishop Hilarion, who blessed the school for the new year, in a spiritual atmosphere filled with hope and renewed enthusiasm.
In his speech, His Excellency emphasized that the student is the essence of the educational mission, stressing that the educator must view him as “beloved of God,” gifted and capable, deserving of care, attention, and guidance. He also shared his long experience as a teacher and principal, encouraging the educational staff to continue their mission with dedication and hope, so that they may be witnesses and messengers of true education.
This celebration is in line with the school's annual slogan: “Everything is connected – towards a pioneering educational renaissance,” as the school seeks, through its academic and educational programs, to connect faith and science, education and life, students and society. Educational renaissance can only be achieved through a holistic approach that values every component of the educational process: teachers, students, parents, and society.
The school's principal, Brother Daoud Kassabry, emphasized that this year is particularly special, as it coincides with preparations for the 150th anniversary of the school's founding, which doubles the responsibility of everyone to continue the educational journey in Jerusalem, the city of hope.
This initial meeting is a unifying moment, where teachers and students gather around the altar to ask for God's blessing on a new school year, a year of meaningful learning, of working together, and building on solid foundations for a better future, believing that “everything is connected” and that their educational mission can bring about real change in the lives of students and in society.
