The Pastoral Committee of the Lasallian Schools in the Holy Land organized a special spiritual day dedicated to developing the general pastoral plan for our schools. The event gathered members of the pastoral committees, school administrations, teachers, youth, and Lasallian mothers from the different institutions.
Among the participants were Brother Daoud Kassabry, Director of Collège des Frères Jerusalem and Head of the Pastoral Office in the Holy Land, and Ms. Ikhlas Banoura, Director of Collège des Frères Bethlehem, together with several educators who carry the responsibility of the Lasallian mission in our schools.
The day began with a prayer led by Ms. Marlene Bandak, opening the hearts of the participants to the presence of God and setting the spiritual tone of the encounter. Afterwards, Sister Amal Hijazin gave a presentation on the qualities of the shepherd and the servant of pastoral ministry, highlighting the witness of faith, building fraternity, and the willingness to serve with generosity.
Mr. Nabil Masou followed with a valuable intervention on the servant’s relationship with the Holy Scriptures and the importance of spiritual growth through the Word of God. Then Brother Daoud Kassabry presented the Lasallian global theme for this year: “Everything is Connected”, and explained its link with the spiritual theme for the Holy Land:
“Finally, all of you, be like-minded, be sympathetic, love one another” (1 Peter 3:8).
The meeting concluded with a fruitful discussion on how to further develop pastoral work in the schools and how to encourage the growth of missionary movements among students, strengthening both their faith and their Lasallian identity.
Through this spiritual day, the participants renewed their commitment to work together as one body, united in fraternity and service, fully aware that “Everything is Connected” in our educational and pastoral mission, in the footsteps of Saint John Baptist de La Salle.
